Resume and Bio

 

Michelle Wherley was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. She graduated from Auburn University in December 2014 with a BSBA in Marketing with a Studio Art minor. Michelle has been able to experiment with many different mediums, but predominantly uses charcoal and acrylics. Michelle has been a featured artist at Kokol  Art Studio and Gallery, FIU Mammography Art Innitiative, the University of Tampa Art Show and around Auburn. Her work focuses primarily on Florida culture and scenery, most recently completing a series that captures fish native to the region

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:     Developed and taught an educational art program including art history, composition, color, a variety of techniques and different mediums. Created art using acrylic paint, silkscreen, charcoal, watercolor, oil bar, india ink, graphite, chalk pastel, pen and ink. Displayed strong interpersonal skills, subject knowledge and time management skills as a student athlete tutor.  Utilized Word, Excel, Power Point, InDesign and the Internet for both education and work.  Gained a working knowledge of databases, and Photoshop.

  • Earned Gold Award (highest award in Girl Scouting) by creating an art lesson book for elementary aged students called Mini Masterpieces and taught it to kindergarten through fifth graders at Chiaramonte Elementary School

  • Earned both Bronze and Silver Awards - painted a 105 foot mural for the Silver Award
